I just saw on the Phillips & Associates website that they are doing debt negotiation and debt settlement. The Phillips & Associates company is run by Jeffrey Phillips. Phillips and Associates is the same company that does DUI and Bankruptcy. Their commercials are pretty bad. It looks like they have the people read right off a card. I cannot see how the actual clients agree to go on TV an embarrass themselves. They must offer to reduce their legal bills.

If you are considering doing debt settlement as an alternative to bankruptcy I would suggest seeking a company that just focuses on debt settlement. Debt Settlement is a very specific field and takes expertise. I would only work with a debt negotiation company that has at least 5 years of experience.

Credit card debt settlement is a great alternative to bankruptcy. You can save anywhere between 40-60 cents on the dollar. You can also avoid having a bankruptcy on your credit report. When you complete the debt program there will be nothing on your credit report to show that you did anything. Debt Negotiation programs do not report to the credit bureaus. It is possible to buy a home while you are in a debt settlement program.
